Ontario PNP Draws Invites 622 Immigration candidate

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has issued 622 invitations to apply for Canadian citizenship in two new Expression of Interest draws on January 24, 2023.

  1. The first draw took place through the Ontario Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream with 620 invitations issued to candidates scoring 82 or higher.
  2. The Ontario Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream issued two invitations in the second draw for candidates who met the criteria for the federal Economic Mobility Pathways Project. This project is specifically designed to help refugees immigrate to Canada as skilled workers.

To qualify for each draw, candidates needed to have created profiles between November 22, 2022 and January 24, 2023.

 

Ontario Expression of Interest Ranking System

The following attributes determine how points are awarded:

  1. Level and field of education and where they completed their studies.
  2. English or French proficiency.
  3. Plans to settle outside the Greater Toronto Area.
  4. Skill and work experience level, earnings history, other factors relevant to prospects in Ontario job market.
  5. Labour market needs in the province or region of the province.

 

Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream

In order to qualify for this stream, applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • An offer for a permanent and full-time position that meets low wage levels for Ontario and is vital to the company;
    • Those who are already working in the position must be offered a wage that is equal to or greater than their current wage
  • In either case
    • Graduated or met requirements of a full-time minimum two-year degree from a publicly-funded Canadian college or university; OR
    • Graduated or met requirements of a full-time minimum one-year post-graduate diploma program from a publicly-funded Canadian college or university.
  • Completed at least half the studies in Canada;
  • Apply within two years from the date you completed the above course
  • Ontario’s legal status
  • Considering settling in Ontario.

 

Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream

In order to qualify for this stream, applicants must have the following qualifications:

  • Permanent, full-time employment under NOC 0, A, or B, meeting minimum wage levels in Ontario, and in a position essential to the business;
    • Those who are already working in the position must be offered a wage that is equal to or greater than their current wage
  • A cumulative experience of two years in relevant work in the five years before the date of application;
  • Relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario, if the position so requires;
  • Live abroad, or be working, studying or visiting Canada on a valid permit;
  • Considering settling in Ontario.
