On January 19, Ontario has issued a total of 1,654 invitations for Canada immigration through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream. The draw, which featured a general selection, required candidates to attain a minimum score of 50 points on the Ontario Expression of Interest System.

To qualify for consideration in this draw, candidates needed to hold a permanent full-time job offer falling under NOC TEER categories 1, 2, or 3, meeting the median wage levels for Ontario. The position had to be deemed essential to the business, and for those already employed in the position, the proposed wage must be equal to or greater than the current wage being paid. Additionally, applicants were required to have two cumulative years of relevant work experience within the previous five years from the date of application.

Furthermore, candidates needed to possess any relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario, if the position necessitated it. Eligibility also extended to individuals living abroad or those already working, studying, or visiting Canada with a valid permit. A crucial requirement for candidates was to express a clear intention to settle in the province of Ontario.

It’s important to note that candidates who wished to be part of this draw needed to have submitted their Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles within the 12-month period spanning from January 19, 2023, to January 19, 2024. This draw signifies Ontario’s commitment to welcoming skilled foreign workers who contribute to the province’s economic development through permanent residency.
