Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for this stream, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Job Offer: Possess a permanent, full-time job offer in an eligible occupation within the agriculture or construction sector.
  • Wage: The offered wage must meet the median Ontario wage for the specific occupation and be essential to the employer’s business.
  • Work Experience: Have at least 9 months of cumulative paid, full-time work experience in the last three years in an eligible occupation, earned within Ontario (seasonal work excluded).
  • Education: Have an equivalent of Canadian high school education or higher.
  • Language: Achieve Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)/Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) level 4 in English or French across all language skills.
  • Residence: Reside outside of Canada, or currently be working, studying, or visiting Canada with a valid permit.
  • Settlement Intention: Have a clear intention to settle in Ontario.

Ontario EOI Ranking System:

The OINP employs a points-based ranking system to evaluate EOI profiles. Points are awarded based on the following factors:

  • Level and field of education, and location of study.
  • English or French language proficiency.
  • Intention to settle outside the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Skill and work experience level, earnings history, and other factors relevant to the Ontario job market.
  • Labour market needs in the province or region.
