The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted a new draw on December 5th, issuing 2,437 invitations to skilled workers in high-demand occupations. This targeted draw reflects the province’s continued efforts to address labor shortages in key sectors and stimulate economic growth.

Breakdown of Invitations:

  • Skilled Trades: 761 invitations were issued to candidates with job offers in specific skilled trades occupations, including construction, electricians, plumbers, and mechanics.
  • Health and Tech: 1,663 invitations were issued to individuals with job offers in healthcare and technology professions, such as nurses, physicians, software developers, and cybersecurity specialists.
  • Economic Mobility Pathway: 13 additional invitations were issued to skilled refugee workers through the OINP’s Economic Mobility Pathway.

Key Eligibility Requirements:

  • Skilled Trades and Health & Tech: Minimum score of 34 (Skilled Trades) or 43 (Health & Tech) on the Ontario Expression of Interest system.
  • Job Offer: Permanent, full-time job offer in an eligible NOC 0, A, or B occupation.
  • Wage: Offered wage must meet the median wage for the position and be essential to the business.
  • Work Experience: 2 years of relevant work experience in the last 5 years before application.
  • License: Relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario, if required.
  • Residency: Live outside of Canada or hold a valid Canadian permit.
  • Settlement: Intention to settle in Ontario.
