  • July 21, 2023

On July 20, Prince Edward Island (PEI) held two provincial draws, inviting 106 skilled worker and entrepreneur candidates to apply for Canada immigration through the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). These draws encompassed the Labour Impact, Express Entry, and Business Impact streams.

Among the candidates, 97 received invitations through the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams, while 9 invitations were issued to Business Impact candidates. The Business Impact candidates needed to meet a minimum score of 80 points to qualify.

For candidates under the Critical Worker Stream, which is part of the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams, 50 points were the minimum requirement if they were working for a PEI employer.

PEI adopted its Expression of Interest system in early 2018, and since then, it has been conducting monthly draws, though there have been some interruptions due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Throughout the year 2022, a total of 1,853 invitations were issued, slightly lower than the 1,933 invitations issued in 2021. Among these invitations, 1,729 were allocated to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates, while the remaining 124 were granted to Business Impact candidates.

These latest draws are a sign that PEI is continuing to welcome skilled workers and entrepreneurs from around the world. If you are interested in immigrating to PEI, you can learn more about the PEI PNP by calling us at 1-800-419-3242 or emailing us at inquiry@winnyimmigration.com.
