In a move to further its skilled worker immigration initiatives, Prince Edward Island (PEI) has extended invitations to 58 candidates seeking Canada immigration opportunities. The draw, held on August 3, focused on candidates under the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). The selected candidates represent key sectors vital to PEI’s growth:
Since its introduction in early 2018, PEI’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system has played a pivotal role in facilitating skilled worker immigration. The province has consistently conducted monthly draws, reinforcing its commitment to attracting and retaining talent. Despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, PEI has demonstrated resilience in maintaining its draw schedule.
PEI’s Immigration Progress: A Glimpse at 2022
In the year 2022, PEI issued a total of 1,853 invitations, a testament to its dedication to welcoming skilled individuals. This figure reflects a slight decrease from the 1,933 invitations extended in the previous year of 2021. Notably, out of the invitations granted in 2022, 1,729 were directed towards candidates under the Labour Impact and Express Entry categories, while the remaining 124 were allocated to Business Impact candidates.
