In a provincial draw on February 1, Prince Edward Island extended invitations to apply to 78 skilled worker candidates seeking Canada immigration. These invitations, issued through the Labour Impact and Express Entry Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) stream, were specifically targeted at professionals employed in the Healthcare, Construction, Manufacturing, Food Processing, Agriculture, and Early Childhood Education sectors.
Since the implementation of its Expression of Interest system in early 2018, PEI has been conducting monthly draws, with occasional disruptions due to the coronavirus pandemic. Notably, in 2023, PEI issued a total of 2,423 invites, showing an increase from 1,853 in 2022. Among these invitations, 2,359 were allocated to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates, while the remaining 64 were offered to Business Impact candidates.
