Quebec Education Ministry Launches Campaign to Recruit Foreign Teachers

Quebec New Website Launch

January 23, 2020 – The ministry of education and higher education in Quebec has launched a new website which aimed at imparting information based on teacher’s training to both international candidates and Canadians to attract the workers in the field of education.

The announcement was made by Jean-Francois Roberge, Quebec’s minister of education and higher education

The information on this website comprises a teacher’s profession which covers the description of teacher’s duties, information on how to obtain a teacher’s license, resources to find a job in the education field, including the information for teachers who wish to immigrate to Quebec.

Foreign nationals seeking to teach in Quebec can find information about internationally recognized programs that will help them to get the teaching opportunity. Plus, they can consult a list of countries from which the training will be recognized and get the complete application procedure.

According to the Quebec ministry, “for the foreign nationals seeking to become a teacher in Quebec, it is possible to get the opportunity, even it’s not their existing occupation.”

“Schools in Quebec are facing a critical shortage of teachers and strong efforts are being made to fulfill the needs by welcoming the newcomers in the province – said Ministry of Quebec.”
