Quebec Invites 2,433 Skilled Workers and Professionals in Two Express Entry Draws

Quebec immigration has conducted two new draws through the Arrima Expression of Interest system, issuing 2,433 invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

The draws were conducted on August 24 and September 7, 2023.

August 24 Draw

  • In this draw, 1,000 invitations were extended to candidates who demonstrated a French language proficiency level of 7 or higher on the Quebec proficiency scale.
  • Eligible candidates were required to have a score of 584 points or higher in the Quebec Expression of Interest points system and had skills and experience in one of the following occupations:
    • Computer and information systems managers
    • Civil engineers
    • Mechanical engineers
    • Industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians
    • Industrial and manufacturing engineers
    • Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)
    • Information systems analysts and consultants
    • Database analysts and data administrators
    • Software engineers and designers
    • Computer programmers and interactive media developers
    • Web designers and developers
    • Civil engineering technologists and technicians
    • Mechanical engineering technologists and technicians
    • Industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians
    • Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians
    • Computer network technicians
    • User support technicians
    • Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
    • Licensed practical nurses
    • Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
    • Secondary school teachers
    • Elementary school and kindergarten teachers
    • Early childhood educators and assistants
    • Graphic arts technicians
    • Audio and video recording technicians
    • Graphic designers and illustrators

Additionally, candidates with job offers outside of the Montreal metropolitan area were specifically targeted, and no minimum score was required for these individuals.

September 7 Draw

  • The September 7 draw resulted in 1,433 invitations.
  • Similar to the August 24 draw, candidates were required to have a French language proficiency level of 7 or higher on the Quebec proficiency scale.
  • The minimum score in the Quebec Expression of Interest points system for this draw was 586 points.
  • Unlike the previous draw, there was no specific list of occupations for this round.
  • Once again, candidates with job offers outside of the Montreal metropolitan area were given priority, and no minimum score was specified for these applicants.
