Quebec releases details of its Second Arrima draw in 2022

Quebec’s immigration ministry released details of a second immigration draw held in January. 322 skilled workers were invited to apply for permanent selection on January 27.

These immigration candidates were invited to apply for the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program by the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) (QSWP). Candidates who were invited had to have profiles in the Arrima pool with scores of 647 points and a valid job offer outside the Montreal metropolitan area.

Candidates receiving an invitation have 60 days to submit a full application to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

This latest draw is the second of the year for Quebec and it brings the number of invitations issued to 834 in 2022. The province has invited a total of 3,564 candidates to apply for permanent selection in 2021.

 

Quebec Expression of Interest: What You Need to Know

  • Candidates submit an online expression of interest profile via Arrima.
  • Profiles are added to an Expression of Interest pool, where they are ranked against one another using a points system and are valid for a year.
  • Through periodic draws, the highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for a Quebec Certificate of Selection under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
  • Candidates receiving an invitation have 60 days to submit a full application.
  • Approved candidates who receive a nomination certificate (CSQ) may then apply to the federal government for Canadian permanent residence.

Quebec Expression of Interest  Requirements

The Quebec Expression of Interest points system includes two sets of points, with some including points for the spouse or common law partner of the principle candidate.

  • Human capital factors:
    • French language ability.
    • French and English combined.
    • Age.
    • Work experience.
    • Education.
  • Quebec labour market factors:
    • Work experience in a field with a labour shortage.
    • Qualifications in one of Quebec’s areas of training.
    • Level of Quebec education.
    • Professional experience in Quebec.
    • Professional experience in the rest of Canada.
    • Job offer inside or outside Greater Montreal.
