Second British Columbia Draw of 2024 Welcomes 193 New Immigrants

On January 16, 2024, British Columbia conducted its second Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of the year, extending more than 193 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency in targeted draws. Here are the key details:

  • Tech Occupations Draw:
    • In a targeted draw for 35 tech occupations, a total of 91 invites were issued under the Express Entry and BC PNP Skills Immigration streams.
    • Notably, the cutoff score decreased by 4 points across all streams in the tech-targeted draw compared to the previous round on December 19, 2023.
  • Occupation-Specific Draws:
    • Early Childhood Educators: 53 invites were sent to profiles with experience as early childhood educators’ assistants or instructors (NOC 42202).
    • Construction Occupations: A new category-based draw invited 75 applicants with experience in 25 construction-related occupations.
    • Healthcare Occupations: 29 profiles with experience in 39 healthcare-related occupations received invitations.
    • Veterinary Care: < 5 invitations issued for veterinary care job offers in priority occupation includes Veterinarians & Animal health technologists and veterinary technicians

 

  • Upcoming Draw in 2024:
    • The next British Columbia draw is expected on January 23, encompassing both general and targeted draws for early childhood educators, 25 construction occupations, and 39 healthcare occupations.
    • Weekly draws are conducted every Tuesday or Wednesday, alternating between general draws and targeted draws for tech and healthcare occupations.
