Australia’s prospective Skilled Regional (Subclass 887) visa has specified requirements to be eligible for having the visa granted. There are many applicants facing issues with their regional residency requirements.
The Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) is going to avail the applicants the concession to the applicants who are eligible in the class. The applicants must have lived in the specified regional area for six months (the residence concession) and worked full-time in a specified regional area for three months (the employment concession). Candidates are even allowed to lodge their visa applications while they are outside Australia during the given concession period and their visa will be granted, provided they have met the other requirements. This initiative will remove stress from prospective visa applicants.
The concessions are going to assist the eligible applicants who have lodged their visa application on or after September 19, 2020, and during the period or within 3 months after the end of the concession period, if the applicant is in Australia. The concession period has started on February 1, 2020, and will continue until DOHA specifies which is not declared yet.
How concession works can be explained in the table below:

According to the table, the employment concession of 3 months is given in the onshore and offshore lodgment while the residence concession of 6 months will be given in case of offshore lodgment but not in the onshore lodgment.
The visa applicants are required to satisfy the employment and residence requirements and provide evidence that they have at nine months of full-time work in a specified regional area and at least 18 months of residence in a specified regional area. The visa applicants have to produce the documented proof prior to the lodgment of their application.
