The Parent and Grandparent Visa (Super Visa) is a temporary resident permit allowing parents and grandparents of Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents to visit for up to 2 years in Canada. the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa enable the applicants for multiple entries (not more than 6 months per visit) for up to 10 years.
Due to the current focus on the COVID-19 pandemic, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have delayed the opening of the 2020 Parents and Grandparents (PGP) Program. Immigration activities are affected across the globe and Canada is not exempted from the same. The launch of the annual call for expressions of interest to apply for the visa was anticipated in the coming weeks. Considering the present circumstances, the government is going to prioritize their efforts to contribute to the whole-of-government response to the pandemic.
Please note that the temporary deferral of the launch of the 2020 call for applications will not be impacted when parents and grandparents will arrive in our country, and that processing of these applications continues.
The Canadian Government is committed to family reunification and ensures to open the program as soon as possible. Further details for the opening of the PGP/Super visa will be posted online and shared as soon as they are available.
