On May 8th, the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (OINP) set a new record by issuing the largest number of invitations ever. The program directly invited 2,349 Express Entry profiles, surpassing the previous record of 1,863 invitations that were issued in the May 5, 2023 OINP HCP Draw.
The significant increase in the number of invites is primarily due to the higher Ontario PNP quota for 2023. The invitations are being sent to Express Entry profiles created between May 8th, 2022 and May 8th, 2023 under the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream.
The invitees are specifically Express Entry profiles with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging from 427 to 482 in 42 healthcare-related occupations. This is a drop of 42 points from the previous HCP healthcare targeted draw on March 8th, 2023.
Since the beginning of 2023, OINP has invited a total of 7,751 Express Entry profiles in six HCP stream draws. OINP routinely examines the Express Entry pool and issues direct provincial nominations to profiles with high-demand jobs (NOC codes), which confers 600 points on selected profiles.
It is important to note that there is no need to register your profile with Ontario separately to be eligible for the HCP stream. However, it is recommended that you select Ontario as your province of destination while creating your Express Entry profile. This will help to increase your chances of being invited to apply for permanent residency through OINP.
